Moon in Virgo - The Moon in Virgo sends us back to work and gives
us a to-do list. We become impatiently aware of what needs to be improved,
fixed, or healed. Our compassion is strong, but we can get irritated at less
industrious folk. This transit is a time to: weed, edit, critique, care, exercise,
investigate, study, heal, but be gentle with others. The Moon in Virgo asks us
to consider what needs healing, what needs composting. It's a time learn, train,
organize  and turn our compassion into pragmatic action. Don't get stuck in
your head. Plant and care for medicinal herbs. During this transit important
issues are practicality, organization, cleaning up your diet or your house, healing
your body or offering healing to others and attending to loose ends. After the
Leo party, it's time clean up our act and turn our attentions to the matter of
our health and hygiene. Practical Virgo cleans the house, sets things in order,
and washes the dog. She purifies and organizes our diet, setting us on the healthy
road for the month. It is a time of taking responsibility and cleaning up the messes
we've been leaving.  Virgo brings painstaking attention to detail; housecleaning
is a good way to work through a Virgo transit. Moon in Virgo is the best time to
work magick involving employment, intellectual matters, health and dietary concerns.
Healing rituals for ailments of the intestines or nervous system are also done during
this period of time. Those born under a Virgo Moon are curious, responsible, caring
but need to cultivate gentle acceptance of self and others.

Moon Day - the day of Remembering and Feeling - Impression Day  The Tarot card
for Mondays is The High Priestess

Beltane Eve -   At twilight this evening, May Eve, the great festival of Beltane begins,
a great communal celebration that excludes no one from its embrace. Ancient Celtic
celebrations involved the kindling of bonfires at this time - indeed, the name of the
festival derives from 'bright fire'. The Beltane fire itself was kindled in a special way:
evidence from nineteenth-century Scotland reveals that the wood had to be of nine
different kinds, that it had to be gathered by men with no metal about their persons
(metal being inimical to the faerykind), and that it had to be kindled without metal.
The ancient method of fire-raising involved a fire spindle and a small piece of wood
to create friction or by the rubbing together of two oak poles. This arduous task was
traditionally performed by nine teams of nine married men - eighty-one firstborn sons.
Once the fire had been kindled, people danced sunwise round it and jumped through
the flames. As the fire was dying down, the animals that had wintered over in barns and
local pastures were driven on their way up to summer grazing, between the parted fire
to ensure their fertility. Before the coals died out, people took fire from the ceremonial
blaze to rekindle their hearths (which had been extinguish in every household before
the festival).
Welcome in the May by making your own fire or lighting a candle and singing
May-time songs. Honor the coming of summer in your own way. Rise before dawn
and wash your face in the dew tomorrow morning to receive the blessing of
Beltaine. If you have a partner, this is the best time for sexual fun and frolic.

First Quarter Moon - (or waxing half moon) The Moon is 90-135 degrees ahead of
the Sun, rising at noon and setting after midnight. Sunset is the prime time for the waxing
Moon. From the time a New Moon is sighted, until it reaches the height of it's power as
a Full Moon, the cycle is known as a waxing moon. The lunar power constantly increases
during this time, and as such, it's an ideal time to cast a spell requiring the fullfilment of a
request. The waxing moon is for constructive magic, such as love, wealth, success, courage,
friendship, luck or health.
Astrologically the Moon is square to the Sun. The First Quarter Moon is the GROWTH
phase. Roots go deeper, stems shot up and leaves form as she creates a new strong body.
Keywords for the First Quarter phase are: action, expression, growth and breaking away.
It is the time in a lunar cycle to take the initial action necessary to achieve your goal by
expressing your needs and desires. FEEL & MOVE. Make phone calls. Write letters.
Dance. Act now.   Those born in a First Quarter Moon phase live a full active life - old
structures are cleared away providing room for  new development.

Sun Day - is the day of Intent, Creation and Renewal....astrologically the Sun symbolizes
the conscious self and rules the zodiac sign of Leo which the Moon is in today. The charms
and spells that would complement this magickal day of the sun are ones for personal
achievements of any kind - such as if you are seeking fame and wealth, working for that
much-deserved promotion at work, or being acknowledged for a job well done. Health
issues, increasing personal power, or simply sticking to your diet and being proud of
what you have accomplished all fall under the sun's golden influence. The colors for today
are gold, yellow, yellow-orange, neon shades of orange and yellow and hot pink. The
essential oils and incenses are: bergamot. calendula, carnation, cedar, cinnamon, frankincense,
orange and rosemary. The metal is Gold. Flowers and plants for today are Carnation,
chrysanthemum, marigold, St. John's wort, and sunflowers.

Beltane - April 30th is Beltane eve and May 1st is a day celebrated as Beltane. It is hailed
as the beginning of summer. The flowers of the hawthorn tree are in bloom; the mantle of
spring's culmination and summer's advent beautifies the radiant earth. Winter's chains are
broken for good as the wheel of the year turns from winter to summer. Love is in the air
as bees carry pollen from blossom to aromatic blossom and honey drips from the comb.
The sacred union of the goddess and the god is observed and sexuality is celebrated as
we regard our bodies as mirrors of the divine plan. The blazing flames of the great bonfire
mirror the passion within our hearts. The tenderness of the new spring season transforms
before our eyes into the lush fullness of new life taking hold and thriving. Everywhere, in
root and in flower, the proliferation of abundance on the earth is seen. Great fires are
ignited, and the door to the Otherworld opens once again.

Moon in Leo - With the Moon in Leo we have the guts to be visible and bring
culture to life. This moon transit illuminates our extroverted sides; we brim with
generosity but can get stuck in our own perspective. This is a time  to: shine,  express,
dramatize, celebrate, create, appreciate, stage, reach out and be generous with
our attention; watch assumptions and do push the stubborn. Being the center of
attention, exuberance, vitality and working with patriarchal issues are all hallmarks
of a Leo Moon transit. You will probably want to act out 'drama queen' part of
yourself, or just be romantic. It's hard to recognize limits in Leo Moon times - it's
also a time for power issues to erupt.  Who will be the center of attention? Ambition
and independent leadership are important issues . You will want to spend money
during Moon in Leo. Leo has great pride which is evident now. As the Moon moves
to Virgo (Monday, the 30th), the ambitious energy of Leo becomes unassuming.
Moon in Leo is the best time to work magick involving authority, power over others,
courage, fertility or childbirth. Healing rituals for ailments of the upper back, spine, or
heart are also done during this period of time. Those born under a Leo Moon can
fill a room with personality and make the most of any situation, but may need to learn
to honor the quiet, the mundane  or another's reality.

Waxing Crescent Moon - The Moon is 45-90 degrees ahead of the Sun. She is the
first visible sliver of Moon seen in the western sky in the late afternoon and early evening.
The crescent faces the East, the gates of rebirth. The crescent's greatest strength is the
midpoint. Work for animals, business, change, emotions, and matriarchal strength. The
Crescent Moon is the SPROUT. The seed has broken through the earth and reaches up
she ventures from the dark, moist earth she has known. Those born during this phase must
break from the past to create their own destiny. Keywords for the Crescent phase are:
expansion, growth, struggle, and opportunity. It is the time in a cycle that you gather  the
wisdom learned in the New phase and communicate your intentions to move forward.
Light a candle. Write or read an affirmation. LISTEN & ABSORB. Commit to your goal.

Woden's Day - Mercury Day - the Day of Communication and Connection..... You can

card for today is the Magician. The colors for today are Purple and orange. The Crystals and

Moon in Gemini - The Moon in Gemini wakes us up; we lose our concentration
but quicken our communication. The conversation sparkles, our thinking broadens
but doesn't deepen. Time to: network, investigate, translate, brainstorm, meditate,
prune, edit, explain and broadcast. The Moon in Gemini quickens our nervous system.
Build a web of understanding - absorb new information. Speak to your plants, trim but
avoid planting. This is a time of communication and other means of expression, freedom,
adaptability, short journeys, reading or writing and having the desire to have more than
one thing going at a once. You may feel talkative and might want to work with your hands
during the moon's transit in Gemini.
All communication (talking and/or thinking) or reading and intellectual matters are easier
during Gemini moon transits. Women are more adaptable and changeable, so take all
statements and promises with a grain of salt, especially if the person has proven fickle in the
past. It's a hard time to make any decisions, but a good time to use your wit or cleverness
in conversation. There is a strong desire for variety and freedom. In emotional matters and
in your environment, issues of the practical world are set aside. Moon in Gemini is the best
time to work magick for good communication, change of residence, writing, public relations
and travel. Healing rituals for ailments of the shoulders, arms, hands or lungs are also done
during this period of time. Those born under a Gemini Moon can talk to anyone, think fast,
multi-task, shift moods with grace, but need to choose depth and focus.

Moon Day - Magickally Moon Day encourages the lunar energies of inspiration, illusion,
prophetic dreams, emotions, psychic abilities, travel, women's mysteries and fertility. Working
with the different phases of the moon is an important skill that takes a bit of time for Witches
to learn. So why  not cut to the chase and experiment with the day of the week that is
dedicated to the moon in all of its magickal energies and aspects?
Today's colors are white, silver and pale blue - select candles of these colors for your
workings. The Flowers/plants are bluebells, jasmine, gardenia, white roses, white poppies,
and moonflowers. The essential oils/incenses are Gardenia, jasmine, lemon, lemon balm,
lily, myrrh, sandlwood and Stephanotis.

New Moon - The New Moon (or Dark Moon) rises at sunrise and sets
at sunset. Astrologically the Sun and Moon are in conjunction. Because
the Sun's light overpowers the nearby Moon in the day, and the Moon
is on the other side of the Earth with the Sun at night, she is not visible
at all. The New Moon is like a SEED planted in the earth. We cannot
see her but she is ready to grow, full of potential and energy for her new
journey/cycle. This is the beginning of a new cycle. Keywords for the
New phase are: beginning, birth, emergence, projection and clarity.
It is the time in a lunar cycle that you are stimulated to take a new action.
During this phase the new cycle is being seeded in your vision, inner and
outer. Engage in physical activity. Spend time alone. VISUALIZE your
goals for the 29.6 day cycle ahead. Those who were born in a New
Moon phase are impulsive, passionate and intuitive. They are risk takers
and pioneers. The moon is 0-45 degrees directly ahead of the sun, and is
1 day old. Magick should be performed between dawn and sunset. A
new moon's power may be embryonic but you can be assured that the
power of any spell cast at this time goes on. Work with Sun goddesses
such as Sekhmet, Vesta and Heartha or the God Ra to increase your
power. Work for self, improvement, gardening, careers and/or romance.

Moon in Taurus - The Moon in Taurus asks us to discover what nurtures
us and how to grow deeper roots. We can almost feel the mud oozing
between our toes, awakening our senses and sensuality and growing our
stubbornness. This is the time cultivate our material resources, our homes and
our body. Plant anything you want to grow strong and fertile. The Moon in
Taurus grounds us; it slows us down and wakes our sensual nature and
stubbornness, helps us dig deeper roots. This is the time garden, plant, cultivate
seeds, relationships and ideas, make love, nurture, take a stand and embody.
Those who are born under a Taurus Moon sign  root deeply and change slowly;
they like to collect, to touch, to support, and see the sacred in the world of
matter. Being steady, they can loan their strength to others, but may need to
learn the beauty in change.

Moon in Aries - The Moon in Aries lights a fire under our tails; it wakes
us up, strips away our complications and our patience. We can prepare to make
a fresh start with the coming New Moon phase but may tend to shoot from the
hip, move fast, and argue quickly. Those who are born under an Aries Moon are
passionate, honest, and fierce, big-hearted but intensely self-directed. They are
happy to loan their fire to inspire others.
